That sure was an announcement, wasn't it? Of course, that's not the least of your problems, when it comes down to it. On Monday, there seems to be a mysterious figure that appears in the chatroom; their avatar seems to be glitched out and unrecognizable to the point where they look like complete static, head to toe. But soon enough, they send out a message for everyone to see. For those using voice, the voice seems to be monotone and completely unrecognizable as either male or female.

Can anybody see this post? I need to tell you guys something, ASAP!

Hey listen up.

Those of you who had different abilities taken from you-- the one that was in the item shop this week was one of mine. By turning over the candy they wanted, I got it back and it works, for the record. Don't know if they're gonna give them back if you don't buy them before we get out of here, so if you see something of yours you want to keep, you better make sure you get it first. Because who knows if you'll get it back, if someone else gets to it first.

E-eh! What's being sold is stuff taken from us? That's like really mean and kinda dumb!

I mean it'd be really bad for business if I just took peoples stuff without paying and sold it to whoever payed for it! You gotta buy things or find them in dungeons or fuse them fair and square if you want to sell them!

Yeah, it looks that way. At least two of the things up there I've recognized-- one of them an outfit and the other one was one of my artes.

All the more reason to keep a close eye out if it's something you care about. I doubt they'll be nice enough to just give them back if you don't pay the price.

Eh?! So is your artes thingy still up for sale? I mean, I'll lend some candy to help you buy it!

No, I got it back now. I got enough candy to make up for the ones I spent. You should save yours. Besides-- that imposter fish said those candies would be important. Not having enough is dangerous.

[Especially since she remembers Recette being close to the bottom of the list-- she doesn't want to see anything happen to her.]

Of course they would sell our abilities back to us. As if we don't already have that candy ranking to deal with.

I expect everyone to keep their hands off of what isn't theirs, lest they earn the ire of the original owner of the ability.

[It sounds stupid and hypocritical coming from Szayel, but that's pretty much his way of giving a warning. To him, people do not want a spot on his shitlist.]

Just one more way for them to try and make us fight, no doubt. People who don't have abilities might be tempted to take them to protect themselves or greedy ones might want to claim them for themselves.

How much did your ability cost? I sincerely doubt these will be able to be hoarded without risk of running out of candy.

400 candy. I'm sure the more valuable the ability, the more they'll make us pay for it.

If you want to get them back, I suggest you do to the work to even it out, if you don't want to test the imposter fish's threats.

Unfortunately that seems to be the case. Nice of them to wait for us to find out on our own, rather than fess up.

It does. I'm glad to have it back, even if it was rather pricey. However...

Unfortunately, even my arte is not capable of breaking the barrier trapping us here.

Oh, I see...do you have any other powers that might be able to do that? Or maybe if everyone gets their powers back they can combine them...

If there was anything I could do that would break that, maybe Armatization could. [...] But the Shepherd isn't here and I can't just do that with anyone. But if it was multiple people attacking at once, or maybe even just one good ability that could get through it... maybe.

But if anyone is going to try it, they should be careful. The barrier likes bouncing back anything you throw at it.

But then, it's now unlikely that anyone will attack you - if someone chooses to act.

That's true. Certainly in a situation like that, it might be better not thinking of others. But I don't plan on sacrificing anyone on my way out of this place.

Still. I do agree. Attacking me wouldn't be very smart.
